NEIGHBORHOOD AWARENESS PROGRAM
NAP is a crime watch program supervised by the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
It was organized in late 1997 and early 1998 when a "screwdriver burglar"
was busy burglarizing many communities in Marion County.

NAP members patrol all of Oak Run and specially assigned areas adjacent, including
the Walmart Center and all the businesses around it, Timber Ridge and the adjacent
area across the road as far north as the Shell Station on SR 200. Members are
expected to patrol 2 hours per month and to attend one monthly meeting (1 hr).
The patrol car is provided by the Sheriff's Dept. - currently a Toyota Prius.
To become a member of NAP please contact: Bette Crouse  873-0871

Phone Book Updates

A listing, by Neighborhood, of all of the residents that are in the current Oak Run Phone Book, was recently
given to all Reps for their Neighborhood. This listing
is for the Neighborhood Rep to keep for making the
appropriate changes and
is sequenced by address for ease of verification of the information.

All additions, corrections and deletions are to be delivered to John McHale (see page 21 in the phone book
for the appropriate form).
Contact John by email at
jmchale8@ix.netcom.com, mail the form to him at
8150 SW 108th St, Ocala, FL 34481 or put it
in his cubby (Nbrhd 10). To print a Form, click HERE.

The boxes on the Request Change Form are to be used as follows:

New Listing is selected when you are not in the current phone book at THIS HOUSE
NUMBER. This usually means someone who
is new to Oak Run but it also
applies to someone who currently
lives in Oak Run, but, in a different house.

Correction is selected when you are changing the information
currently in the phone book, such as a phone number.

is selected when a person has moved and therefore is
no longer living at that address in the current phone book.

If you have a question, please call John at 352-362-3465.

Note: Printed updates will be available in the library about every 4 months.

Recycling

For more information contact Steve Routte at 237-0502

The Oak Run/ORHA Recycling Center is located on the
Service Road which leads to the RV Parking Area.

Our Recycling Center is ONLY for recycling newspaper,
aluminum cans, magazines, phone books and tearable paper.

There are three bins located at the Recycle Center.
The large, long one,
is for newspaper
and aluminum cans. One smaller bin near the medical (white) shed is for tearable paper
and magazines.
Please recycle your Oak Run Phone Books in this bin.The plastic ring
binder does not have to be removed. Please DO NOT put commercial phone books
in
this bin.
Place your commercial phone books in their designated bin.

Facts about Recycling:

1. PAPER - Making paper from recycled paper reduces contributions to air pollution by 95%

2. ALUMINUM - Recycling 1 aluminum can saves enough energy to power a TV for 3 hours.

3. REVENUE - Receipts from our recycling program is in excess of $6000 a year.  These funds
are used to help pay for coffee, vacuum cleaner maintenance, sports equipment, lighting,
community fairs and other ORHA expenses devoted to the community.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Place only aluminum cans (not bi-metal cans - most cans other than soda and beer cans)
in the Aluminum Can bin.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE:

DO NOT THROW PLASTIC BAGS FULL OF CANS INTO THE BIN!
DO NOT PUT PLASTIC OR PAPER BAGS INTO THE NEWSPAPER BIN!
DO NOT LEAVE CARDBOARD IN ANY BIN!
DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING ON THE GROUND AROUND THE BINS!

Plastic bags, bi-metal cans, and cardboard in the bins reduces the revenue ORHA receives
from recycled items.
Items left on the ground must be handled by volunteers who have to
take those items to the garbage bins.

Other recyclable materials may be taken to Marion County Recycling Centers.
For the locations of these centers call 671-8465.

The Florida Highlands Recycle Center in Timber Walk (6 miles from Oak Run) will handle
almost any recyclables, including yard waste, cardboard, scrap metal, batteries, oil and paint.
The hours are: Sun & Fri - 9AM to 7PM; Mon/Wed/Sat - 7AM to 5PM; closed Tue & Thu

For information about recyling your electronic devices like computers, printers, etc. click HERE.
