Len Walsh is this years Golf Tournament Coordinator. This is a Team Scramble Shot Gun Start at 10:00 a.m. on June 30th. In case of a Rainout, golf will be cancelled. Sign up to play begins June 1st. Call ins will be honored. Fee of $15.00 per person is due at June 30th check in.

Featuring the Gary Hays' "Original Log Cabin Dixieland Jazz Band" whom we all enjoy their performance. ORHA Catering group consists of Damian Romano in charge of the food line, also Paul and Emily Pike and Ed and Flo Feltman. Jack Reilly is in charge of the Beer and Soda. Cost: $9.00 per person. Includes Hot Dogs, Beer and/or Soda ..."All you can eat and drink!"

Ticket Sales: Mon. June 14 from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. in Palm Grove Auditorium and Tues. June 15 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Orchid Club Lobby.

You will be handed a Magnetic Number to purchase your Dance Tickets, Cost: $6.00 per person will be taken care of separately with one check at one Table.

You will be handed another Magnetic Number if you intend to purchase Tickets for the July 1 Barbecue, Cost: $11.00 and you must select choice of either Half Slab Baby Back Ribs, or 1 Boneless Chicken Breast and select the Time of either 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m.

You purchase the Tickets for the July 2 Dixieland Jazz Concert from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Cost: $9.00 You may pay for the Barbeque and Dixieland Concert with One check at another Table. There will be two different tables to handle these events to expedite the sales.

Cool Down/Flag Ceremony and the Troubadours
Orchid Club Auditorium 9-00 a.m. Rain or Shine

Leading the parade will be the Oak Run Veteran's Association Flag Bearer, Dick Buck as Uncle Sam, Dale Wurzburger as Abe Lincoln, Marion County Sheriffs Pipes and Drums will play music along the parade route, Ambassador Chairwoman, the Grand Marshals, ORHA President and Directors and hopefully many decorated neighborhood golf carts, costumed marchers, various clubs, possibly antique cars, motorcycles and the Marion County Fire Dept. Following the parade, all participants and observers are cordially invited to the Orchid Club at 9:00 a.m. for the Cool Down festivities with the presentation of the Flag Ceremony and the distinct privilege of being entertained by the Oak Run Troubadours. Joe Huszar, President of the Tennis Group and his helper Jim Newsheller, and their volunteers will be prepared to quench your thirst with lemonade and/or water along with delicious Danish and, for those who need it, sugar-free cookies available at three stations in the Auditorium. Rain or Shine, Cool Down/Flag Ceremony takes place at 9:00 a.m. in the Orchid Club Auditorium.


Ambassador's Stage Ceremony program: Ray Balliet, Master of Ceremonies will introduce our Invocation person, Flag Presentation by Oak Run Veteran's Association - Ben Cromwell, Dick Buck as Uncle Sam, and Pianist Margaret Elder, Pat Bartlett, Ambassador's Chairwoman will introduce the Grand Marshals, and Eileen Dowling, President of ORHA will introduce the Directors. Ray will introduce Mary Beth Lake, Director of the Troubadours; they will sing patriotic songs and there will be an audience sing-a-long accompanied by their pianist, Margaret Elder.

 

The Ambassadors is a standing committee of ORHA made up of Volunteers who work together to put on Dances, Stage Shows, Oktoberfest, Dixieland Jazz Concert and Barbeque as part of the 4th of July events. Sign up for Ticket Takers, Ticket Sellers, 80/20 Raffle helping out with special events. We enjoy doing all these events for all Oak Runners to enjoy. We are not a Club, thus there are no dues.
