OAK RUN RUMOR BUSTER #2!

An email is circulating from disgruntled residents asking residents to go to the Courthouse on February 29th at 1:30 p.m. to “show support” for a case in which they claim Mr. Ghumman is wanting to “rezone the 9-Hole golf course to build multi-story bldgs.”. This is categorically UNTRUE.  There is NO rezoning case, nor ANY rezoning of ANY property. On the 29th, Judge Jack Singbush will hold a status conference on a case filed by 22 homes, most of whom are F.O.R. (“Friends of Oak Run”) members, suing DECCA, Oak Run Associates and Mr. Ghumman personally because, amongst other items, they do not believe DECCA/Oak Run Associates should ever have made or ever should make a profit.  If you have any questions about this, please email me, Alana Inman, DECCA Liaison to the ORHA Board, at ainman@deccahomes.com or call me at 352-854-5775 Ext. 24.

Recently, two homeowners have circulated an email claiming DECCA/Oak Run is laying off its Security guards and no longer doing pool checks. This is categorically untrue. There have been some changes in Security in order to provide our residents better and more efficient service and coverage.  In this particular instance shifts were changed, duties were reassigned and positions were moved around but no one was laid off. The two guards it affected were given the choice of several other shifts. They elected not to choose them, and they resigned.  We continue to monitor the pool areas and recreational facilities and provide the very same high quality security service to which  we always have been and always will remain fully committed.  Please do not accept these rumors as fact – always feel free to call me, at 854-5775, extension 24, and verify whatever you have heard. It’s unfortunate when residents who have personal agendas or gripes choose to alarm their fellow residents for no reason. One last note: we have 4 open positions that Security is hiring for and we encourage those of you looking for work to apply! (Call Chief of Security, Roy Wallace, at 854-2299, or our Human Resources office, 854-6210 extension 13, if you are interested!)

ORHA Computer Class

The next class is on Saturday, Feb 18, at 2:00 PM in the Orchid Club. This class is called  "Create Your Own Blog" and requires a $1 fee. It's very easy to be a "blogger" once you've taken this class. To take full advantage of the class you should already have a Google Account and bring a laptop. This information is especially helpful to clubs or individuals wanting to have their own easy-to-use free website, a blog, that can be shared with club members or family and friends. Classes are open to all residents. No sign-up required, just show up. Observers are welcome without a laptop. Send any questions or suggestions to: orha.ocala@gmail.com. Computer Club members can attend any class for free by wearing their 2012 member badge.

New Location for Ticket Sales

Up to three Ticket Sales tables for Oak Run Clubs and
Organizations inside
the Orchid Club Auditorium during
Donut Drop-in and Pancake Breakfast
have been approved
by the ORHA Board.
A Room Request must be submitted
to
the ORHA Scheduler for approval. Location and availability
are at the discretion
of the people in charge of either the
Donut Drop-in or Pancake Breakfast. 
This location is in
addition to the three
Ticket Sales spaces in the OC Lobby.
